PER has teamed up with Real Deals to discover the inspiring stories of private equity professionals taking action to improve diversity and inclusion in the industry
PER has partnered with Real Deals to launch Future 40: Diversity & Inclusion Leaders. The list, which will be published in the magazine’s November issue, will feature the stories of 40 architects of private equity’s diverse and inclusive future.
PER Founder and Managing Director, Gail McManus, said: “Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of PER’s mission and, through our ongoing work, we’ve met individuals whose efforts are changing the face of this industry. We want to provide a space to celebrate the fantastic work they are doing to tackle underrepresentation and create a culture where talented people feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work.”
Entries for Future 40: Diversity & Inclusion Leaders will open on Wednesday 9th September, encouraging private equity professionals to nominate peers at any level and in any sector or role who have made a notable difference to diversity and inclusion in their workplace or in the industry as a whole. A judging panel of diversity and inclusion experts will select the 40 most motivating stories to be featured in Real Deals.
Gail, who will represent PER on the judging panel, added: “We will identify 40 people whose stories will set the tone for the next steps the industry takes towards becoming truly diverse and inclusive. It could be an individual who has stood up as a member of an underrepresented group and made their voice heard on behalf of others or it might be someone who has gone out of their way to ensure working cultures welcome us all. I expect to be surprised and inspired by the stories we hear.”
Real Deals has been producing the annual Future 40 list for the past three years, highlighting individuals making the deals that shape this industry’s future. PER and Real Deals are confident that the change of focus from deals to diversity this year will shine a spotlight on the progress private equity has made and the opportunities there are to do more.
Talya Misiri, Editor at Real Deals said: “PER’s long history of supporting diversity in private equity makes them the perfect partner for this project. It is the right time to embark on a celebration of Diversity and Inclusion Leaders and we’re looking forward to sharing stories of the remarkable work being done throughout the industry.”
